A couple of cute memories I hope I don't forget:
Mr. Berg is currently terrified I'll go into labor in the next week. He really wants Baby Boy to arrive in July and I don't blame him. I do too. While we're ready, we could use a few days to get things unpacked, set up and find some kind of sense of calm.
Anytime I grimace, take too long to answer a question, have difficulty getting up, rolling over, etc his first questions is "Oh my God, are you labor?"
The answer is no.
****
Anytime I mention that Baby Boy feels like he's dropping a little bit or I can feel him in an area I haven't felt him in before, Mr. Berg's response is always "But he's not coming right now?"
The answer is still no.
*****
This morning Mr. Berg opened up a cabinet and said "oh my God, there's bottles in there."
No shit Sherlock, we're having a baby.
******
My hosptial bag has clothing, a tolietery kit, hair supplies, bras, undies etc.
Mr. Berg's hosptial bag: a pair of socks and the rest is food. He took the nurse seriously when she said Dad's aren't fed.
Mr. Berg is currently afraid of all my "personal care items" that I will need post delievery. They showed us the mesh undies in child birth class. He's ruined for life poor man.

38 Week Letter
Dear Baby Boy-
This is the last week that I can say "I'm having a baby in July" or "I'm due next month." Your due date is two weeks away and I couldn't be any more excited if I tried. It's hard to believe you grew from a tiny little poppy seed into the pumpkin sized baby you are right now. What's even harder to believe, how Mama is going to get that pumpkin sized baby out of her. I think we'll just worry about crossing that bridge when we come to it.
This weekend is finished our shopping and got all of the things that we think we'll need for your arrival. There are bottles in our cupboard, tiny clothes in your dresser drawers and a baby bathtub in your bathroom. Our hospital bags are packed and your diaper bag has everything you'll need for the drive home. (Seeing as it's 20 minutes, I doubt you'll need that much, don't you think?) We can't believe any of it is real. How is it that you'll be here soon?
We are so excited to meet you. Yesterday your Daddy told me that he had a dream you were here. I asked him what you looked like and he said "I'm not sure, but he was really, really cute" Duh, we already knew that :)
While the calender says we have just two short weeks until you're here, I'm not so sure. I have a feeling we might get to keep you inside a little bit longer. I'm still perfectly okay with that. I have yet to be too uncomfortable or miserable. You seem pretty content in there. Just as long as you don't stay until your 35, that would be awkward.
We love you Baby Boy and can't wait to meet you.

37 Week Survey
How far along?
37 Weeks and 4 days
How Big is Baby:
This week he is the size of a winter melon. Although, to be very honest, I don't know what a winter melon is.
Symptoms:
Yesterday was the first day that I felt really, really uncomfortable all day. At first I thought it was early labor, which freaked me out. I'm not ready yet.
But embarrassingly enough, I think it was just a really bad case of gas.... I know, eww.
Otherwise, I still feel pretty good. My feet are pretty much swollen all the time now. My tailbone hasn't been giving me too much grief. I am totally worn out by 5:30-6pm. And by worn out, I mean, totally uninterested in doing anything but laying on the sofa with my feet up.
Weight Gain:
I hit the 30 pound mark this week.
And I'm not talking about it anymore.
Best moment this week:
A Couple:
The car seat is in the car, we're getting it inspected for safety purposes tomorrow.
All of his clothing is folded and organized and put away in his dresser.
We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary last night. Mr. Berg got me three dozen roses. That's a lot!
Worst Moment of this Week:
The super high temperature and the humidity does not make for a happy pregnant lady. Doesn't matter how much time I spent in the AC or how much water I drink. It still just makes me feel gross!
Movement:
Slowing down. Today has been a particularly slow day for him.
(and I just started annoying him to make him move and he's probably in there plotting his revenge for 3am every night for his first year of life)
Food cravings:
Food is so unappealing right now. It really makes me sad. I eat, obviously, I gained 30 pounds. But nothing is that exciting to me anymore. I don't really want anything. I haven't craved anything lately. I don't even really care where we go when we go out to eat anymore. It's sad for a foodie like me.
Gender: A very sweet baby boy
.
Labor Signs: I have noticed an increase in braxton hicks contractions.
Belly Button in or out? Still in, looking much like a doughnut hole
What I miss: Always the following:
Raw Sushi, Wine, Beer, Pants with zippers and snaps, Spinning, a Hard Work Out, Running, Staying Up Late, Spray Tans, Frozen Margaritas, Jamaican Smiles and Walking Up Steps Without Having to Stop and Catch my Breathe, Wine on the Back Deck on a warm night. The beach in general.
Feet that aren't swollen, being able to bend over and fix my toe nail polish, not feeling like a weebelwallbel.
What I am looking forward to:
Mr. Berg's work shower is tomorrow afternoon.
Finishing the registry on Saturday
Relaxing and putting my feet up.

37 Week Letter
Dear Baby Boy-
Woah, 37 weeks! You know what that means? You're full term. How on earth did that happen?
I hate to break it to you kid, but you need to just stay put. We aren't ready for you yet. We just installed your car seat last night, and put sheets on your bed over the weekend. Your clothes are washed but they're just sitting in the basket waiting to be folded and put away. Your stroller is still in the box and we haven't figured out how to use your monitor or anything yet. So..... just stay put. Think you can handle that?
In all honesty though, I don't think you're ready yet anyway. If Mama had to guess, you'll probably end up being late. Late is fine. Aside from not being 100% ready at home, I'm not 100% ready in my heart yet. I love having you with me all the time. I love knowing you are safe and warm and well protected in my belly. I get the biggest kick out of putting my hand on my belly and feel your bottom on your foot or your knee. I'm just starting to figure out what is where and before long you'll be on the outside. It makes me sad and excited, all in the same breathe.
Your Daddy is so excited to meet you. He's getting worked up, thinking about all the things we have yet to do. But when it all comes down to it. He can't wait to meet you. He can't wait to have you in his arms and he can't wait to be your Daddy.
Speaking of being a Daddy. We helped Daddy celebrate his first Father's Day on Sunday. We got him a really awesome diaper bag and some helpful items for when you arrive. With any luck, you won't go without wipes and a toy when you're out and about with Dad.
We have such a wonderful life waiting for you. From amazing grand parents, to wonderful friends and trips to the beach. We can't wait to share our lives with you. You'll never be lonely, not as long as we're around.
We love you darling Boy.
But please, stay put for a few more weeks. Give us a little more time.
Love,
Mama

There Should Be a Rule Against That
So I logged onto Facebook this morning like any good worker bee, skirting her responsibilities and taking a mental break.
Guess what I found? A friend posted a bunch of pictures from college during our Junior and Senior Years. You know, when I was young, skinny, tan and hot.
Let me bring you up to speed if you don't know my currently state. 9 months pregnant, white and blubbery.
As it, not hot. Not even cute really, just not.
Don't get me wrong. I love, love, love being pregnant. I love feeling my son squirm around inside me and I love knowing that I've treated my body well while pregnant.
In total, I've gain 28 pounds so far this pregnancy. While I have indulged in ice cream and the occasional baked good, I have also eaten plenty of fresh fruit, veggies and lean protein. Baby Boy gets at least a gallon of water every day and while we don't exercise like we should, we are certainly active.
As that damn little voice in the back of my mind tries and tries to break me down and make me feel bad about myself, I resist. I know that I am doing what I can to keep us healthy and safe and responsible.
In return my body has done well too. I have yet to get a single stretch mark. Most of my weight seems to be concentrated to my belly and my thighs. I haven't had a lot of heartburn, stomach issues or indigestion. My skin still breaks out like it always did and my energy has yet to deplete.
I know I'm in a good place.
But lord have mercy, I am so ready to get back to weight watchers and working out. It isn't even funny. I miss holding myself accountable, researching new recipes and watching the progress on the scale. I miss holding my breathe an anticipation of a lower number.
Instead, I stare at the scale and wonder exactly how high is that thing going to go? It's bad, bad, bad!
I should just step away from the social media.

36 Week Survey
How far along?
36 Weeks and 4 days
How Big is Baby:
The Bump, my pregnancy experts (or whatever), say that Baby Boy is the size of a honey dew melon. Which is pretty big if you ask me.
Symptoms:
The tailbone never stops hurting. It hurts when I wake up, it hurts when I sit, it hurts when I stand up, it hurts worse as the day goes on and when I roll over in bed at night, it still hurts.
Baby Boy randomly presses on a nerve that sends electric shocks through my left leg. That's fun....
Otherwise, I still feel really good. My energy is still there, my feet don't swell badly or that often.
I'm soaking in the last few weeks of this.
Weight Gain:
I have gained 28 pounds total this pregnancy.
Best moment this week:
We had our hospital tour and birthing class this week. It scared me at first, but now that everything has sunk in, I'm looking forward to the whole process. I feel like I'm better informed and up for the challenge.
Worst Moment of this Week:
I feel like I haven't really seen my husband this week. We've been so busy and the chores around the house never stop piling up.
Movement:
He is forever squirming around in there. He gets the hiccups a lot which always cracks me up.
Food cravings: Water, fresh fruit, iced tea
And right now I'd really like a cupcake. But I guarantee if someone gave me a cupcake right now, I wouldn't really want it. I'd probably eat it but I wouldn't be excited by it.
That is me with all food right now and I hate it.
Gender: A very sweet baby boy
.
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Still in, although, looking a little shallow.
What I am looking forward to:
Washing baby clothes and getting the rest of the nursery set up.
We are so behind :)

Breaking News
For the past couple of months Sophie has been a little bit, shall we say, anti baby.
She won't curl up and sleep with me anymore, she ignores my belly and anything that we bring into the house that would be considered baby related. Even more concerning is her hate for what was once her favorite room in the house.
Even before we started turning the guest room into a nursery, she refused to go in the room unless someone went with her once the baby gear started to appear. Typically it was her favorite room to sleep in and explore. She was ever so protective of the room and even went as far as to sit on the bed in front of the house guests that were staying in the room. Almost as if to say "hey, this is my place."
I worried she'd never get over the fact her room had changed and wasn't necessarily hers anymore. I also worried she'd really act out once the baby arrived.
After we moved the furniture in a few weeks ago, I started leaving the door to the nursery propped open again. I never encouraged her to go in there. But I would also praise her and pet her if she ever appeared while one of us was in there.
To her credit, Sophie has taken to the nursery in fine fashion. For the past week I have noticed that whenever I can't find her, she's been curled up on the floor by the window in the nursery. Every morning when I leave our bedroom to head downstairs for breakfast she comes out from the nursery just as happy as a lark.
She seems at peace. I hope it stays that way.
It won't be long before a screaming new born is in there, and then what?
Lord only knows.....
