Do Something That Scares You

I need to shake things up a bit.
Spring is here, it's time to deep clean the house and while I'm at it, deep clean my soul too.

I've found myself to be in a bit of a rut lately. I'm not sure why, but I am.
I need to shake some things up and try my hand a few new things.
That being said, starting in May I'm going to pick three things a month that I'm going to do that scare me.
This can be anything from cooking a new recipe I'm afraid I'll mess up, trying my hand at a new skill, or doing something in general I don't think I'll do well.
Are we noticing a trend? I don't do things because I don't think I'll do them well.
Can we say perfectionist much?

Soooo
The scary stuff for May:
  1. Cook Fish
  2. Give Running a Try
  3. Figure Out How to Make Beets
I should preface this by saying: I love fish and I love beets. But for some reason, it scares me to think about making them myself. There isn't a lot of logic behind what makes them scary. I've just never made them. So next month, I'm going to try.

And running.... Well, it's not a secret, I HATE running. And I hate exercising in front of people. And, seeing as I don't own a treadmill, I'll have to run OUTSIDE, around my NEIGHBORHOOD. This means: PEOPLE WILL SEE.

Holy Chit ya'll, that's gonna suck!

I downloaded the Couch to 5k ap on my ipod. I ordered an arm band thinger to hold my ipod as I run. I think this is as much prepartion as I'm going to need.

Typically when I try running, I run too fast, too soon and then I get winded, fusterated and I stop.
Hopefully, the Couch to 5k program will teach me a lesson about pacing. And maybe, just maybe I might like running.

Like I said, MAYBE.

So, here I go, expanding my horizons.
Aren't ya'll proud of me :)
